You know it’s summer when Ted Drewes opens up again! They now are open for business from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, seven days a week. 

Ted Drewes Frozen Custard has become an integral part of St. Louis over the years…and one of their two locations (4224 S Grand Blvd.) is located right here in the Dutchtown West Neighborhood! 

According to their website, Ted Drewes Sr. first opened Ted Drewes Frozen Custard at the South Grand location in 1931.

According to their website, Ted Drewes Sr. first opened Ted Drewes Frozen Custard at the South Grand location in 1931. While only open during the summer hours for ice cream, Ted Drewes lights up again from November 28 to around December 20 to sell the Canadian balsam Fir Christmas Trees that are brought to St. Louis from Nova Scotia. They also have select flavors of custard for sale…and kids get free frozen custard with the purchase of a tree!

The Lawrence Group has just announced their plans for Phase II of their development which will focus on the property to the South of the Southside Towers. I stopped by today and got a tour of the renovated building at 3737 S. Grand Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63116. The building was previously an old McDonalds and has been turned into a family owned and operated Vietnamese restaurant. It looks great on the inside! While their menus have not arrived yet, we will be sure to post what they offer as soon as we get them! Be sure to check out this new dining option when you get a chance and help support our local businesses!

Consider dining at Grbic’s Restaurant sometime to let them know how much we appreciate their generosity and being a solid business in our neighborhood. Grbic’s is offering $25 Gift Certificates on Restaurant.com for only $10. If you do a google search for “restaurant.com coupon codes” you can often find 60% to 80% off the price of the gift certificates…so you can get a $25 Gift Certificate at Grbic’s for only $2 to $4. Either way, Grbic’s restaurant is a beautiful dining experience and has great Bosnian food. Remember to mention you are from the neighborhood association if you go!

Twice Blessed sells clothing for women and children, jewelry, purses, shoes, and small home decor. They are open from 10am – 5pm Tuesday through Saturday. All proceeds  benefit “Our Lady’s Inn” which is a shelter for women and children in crisis.
