Interested in seeing what your Alderman is or is not spending money on in your Ward?

Each fiscal year the City of St. Louis allocates funds to each of the 28 Wards (see Ward map here) for capital improvement projects.  For the current fiscal year (FY09), each Ward was allocated $308,750.00 from the 1/2 cent sales tax that is collected for capital improvements. You can see the budget allocations for 2009 by clicking here. Typically, these funds are used to improve neighborhood parks, reconstruct alleys, enhance street lighting, resurface residential streets and replace refuse dumpsters in each Ward. The funds are spent at the discretion of each Alderman typically after receiving feedback and input from their constituents and local neighborhood groups.
